Ile masz lat?
-
Listen
What it means
Literally “how many years do you have?” The standard Polish way to ask someone’s age — “how old are you?”
Vocabulary
- ile — how many / how much
- masz — you have (2nd person singular of 'mieć')
- lata — years (plural of 'rok')
Grammar note
'Ile' takes the genitive — 'lat' is the genitive plural of 'rok' (year). Note the irregular plural: rok → lata → lat.
