    What it means

Literally “as long as I live / in all my life.” Used to emphasise that something is unprecedented in one’s experience — “never in my life,” “in all my born days.” E.g. “jak żyję, czegoś takiego nie widziałem” — I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.

    Vocabulary

    • żyć — to live

    Grammar note

'Jak żyję' is a temporal clause used as a fixed intensifier — first person singular present of 'żyć'.
