    What it means

Literally “in honour of.” Used in toasts and dedications — “in honour of,” “to the health of,” “here’s to.” E.g. “wznieść toast na cześć kogoś” — to raise a toast in someone’s honour.

    Vocabulary

    • cześć — honour, glory; also: hi/bye (informal)
    • na cześć — in honour of

    Grammar note

'Na cześć' uses the accusative of 'cześć' after 'na'. Often followed by genitive: 'na cześć zwycięzcy' (in honour of the winner).
